About Our Church

Past

In 2009, St. John's began as a preaching station served by various Lutheran pastors from Accident, Maryland. At first we gathered for Divine Service at Panera Bread in Clarksburg. Early on, we moved to the building in which we now reside on Meigs Ave.

On October 6, 2019, St. John's was received into membership in the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Their first residential pastor was Rev. Amadeus Gandy, who was installed in November 17, 2019 and served at St. John's until October 11, 2020.

Present

St. John's is now served by Rev. Stanley Lacey. For more information about Rev. Lacey and his family, click here.

As our new pastor begins his work at St. John's, we look forward to reaching out more and more to our community with the Gospel and works of love.

Jesus Christ died for sinners, rose from the dead, and still comes bodily to those gathered in his name to forgive sins, make disciples, and build up the people of God. We are excited to share this reality with the people God has placed around us!

Future

Our mission at St. John's is to carry the missionary task of bringing the Gospel to the community and neighborhoods in Clarksburg, Bridgeport, and beyond. We desire to build lasting relationships in the area that support the vitality of the region.

We are a congregation that is passionate about taking what we experience on Sunday mornings, the love of Christ and forgiveness of sins, out into the community every day.
