Rev. Amadeus L. Gandy

Rev. Amadeus Gandy is the first residential pastor of St. John's.

Previously, Pastor Gandy served as Pastor and Mission Developer at Faith Lutheran Church of Butler, PA from June 2018, until Faith merged with St. Luke Lutheran Church of Cabot, PA in May 2019, at which time he accepted the Call to serve the merged St. Luke congregation as Associate Pastor and Mission Developer.


Pastor Gandy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies degree from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI in 2014 and a Masters of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary at Fort Wayne, IN in 2018. Pastor Gandy served his vicarage under the Rev’d Jeffrey Pulse at Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, IN from 2016-2017.

While at Seminary, Pastor Gandy was commissioned in 2016 as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force Chaplain Candidate program. He graduated from Officer Training School (Commissioned Officer Training) in 2017 and served his Active Duty training with the 354th Fighter Wing at Eielson AFB, AK in 2018. In 2019, he was reappointed from Candidate to Chaplain and promoted to First Lieutenant in the USAF Reserves. He is currently an IMA Chaplain assigned to the 81st Training Wing at Keesler AFB, MS.


Pastor Gandy met his wife, Britta, at Viterbo and were married in the Fall of 2012. They are parents to two daughters, Leilani (4) and Miriam (2), and one son, Iosefa (6mo.).


Pastor Gandy enjoys spending time with his family, reading and studying, eating and working out.
